The Ups and Downs of Facebook Friends

Oh yes, Facebook...that thing that popped up in seemingly everyone's lives a few years ago--including in your grandmother's - and it has become something that we haven't been able to live without since.

In fact, during the time that Facebook has been around, it has managed to gather so many members that if Facebook was a country, it would be the third most populous country in the world.

Facebook Friends

Do your friends 'like' you

But what about the so-called friends you have on Facebook? Are they easily your friends or are some of them just on there after a opportunity encounter once in a bar?

There are surely ups and downs to having a Facebook account.

It's great for citizen who live abroad or for citizen who have had friends that have moved away. It's a nice way to sort of pop in and out of citizen lives.

Like so many citizen who live abroad, it's easy to forget that life is still happening on other parts of the planet, and that citizen are still captivating on and evolving when you're on your captivating adventure.

Birthdays reminders

It's an easy way to creep on people's photos, and to tell person happy birthday (because there's a nice favorable reminder on the top right hand side of the page) but it still kind of makes them think that you care.

And if you want citizen to feel extra special, it's all the time nice to send them a inexpressive message to show them that you easily care.

And with the recently added Facebook chat function, citizen can now connect in real-time with friends...it's roughly like they're chatting face to face and not sitting alone behind a computer screen and a keyboard.

Facebook Monsters

With the benefits of being able to reach out and virtually connect on someone's page, Facebook has surely been flourishing at personalising the Internet. But it has also created many green-eyed monsters within many people.

Now that we can creep in on people's lives like never before, looking what they're saying, doing, what other citizen are saying about them, it's roughly like we know too much sometimes.
Facebook has been a relationship breaker for many people, and, as much as it's brought citizen together, it's also driven citizen apart.

People who 'like' too much

It's caused jealousy among some, and it's been a platform to passively-aggressively show how unhappy, or pissed off you are by simply updating your so-called status.

Matter-of-fact, Facebook has caused so many problems with some people's relationships, that being on Facebook is a relationship in and of itself as citizen jump in the middle of activating and deleting their account.

So, what's the moral of the story? Remember, Facebook is still on that thing we like to call the Internet.

Whatever you put up there is your responsibility, and you have no control over what other citizen put up there. So, if you pick to be a Facebook user, head somewhere with care.
