Facebook is the fasting growing communal media site on the web today. According to Facebook they currently have in excess of Four Hundred (400) million active users with over 50% of those users logging into their accounts in any given day. I have a lot more interaction with family members that live out of state and I hate to admit with some that live less than 5 miles from me. So how do you connect?
- Read all the updates on your feed. Make a point to click the like button on the ones that you like and commentary on the ones that you have a commentary for.
- Check your inbox. Some of them prefer to talk confidentially through the inbox.
- Check your notifications. At the top left side of the Facebook screen you will see a globe with a number when you have notifications. It tells you if man has commented on something you commented on or liked. Then you can click on that to continue the conversation. It assuredly notifies you of whatever that happens in Facebook that has to do with you. For example, when your friends put a photo on their site and tag you in the photo it will tell you and you can go to their site to see it.
- Make a point to click on peoples names in your list to go to their wall to see what they have been up to. Not all they do shows up in your feed and it is great to see what they are interested in etc. You can also look at their photos and info.
3. Facebook is a great tool for connecting with other like-minded people. Facebook is a great way to meet and get to know other citizen who share your interest and hobbies. You can meet them through groups and pages on Facebook, through tele-seminars and you can be introduced to citizen by your other friends. If you are a blog reader a lot of times you will see the "Connect on Facebook" buttons. You can met some truly marvelous citizen and join together with them through comments and "likes" on their updates and supporting their fan pages and groups. Be a sharer and tell your friends about other inviting people.
4. Use Facebook to promote your business. Wow! The opportunities are endless for promoting yourself or your business on Facebook. You need to know that Facebook has lots of rules about this and they are very protective of their members - which is an awesome thing. That is probably the guess that this does work so well. If they think you are spamming their members at all they will kick you off - and I like that.
The best promotion recipe for communal media is what I call association (or Educational) Marketing. citizen only buy from those they trust so to promote to these citizen you must bring up the relationship. Think about this - Are you more likely to buy something from man who takes the time to provide value to your life and has earned your trust or man who just keeps pushing and pushing and pushing you? Promotion in the world of communal media is changing the way citizen think - it is truly about the relationship!
Facebook has created Fan Pages (Business Pages) for businesses to use to promote their products and services. It is a great way to get your vision over to your friends and fans. You can have a direct association with citizen who are interested in you and your product. If you don't deliver value into their life they can assuredly "unlike" your fan page. That leaves the ball in your court to provide the type of facts that makes citizen think, laugh, smile and love. Make a point to be a fan of many pages and look at those that are victorious to see how they are doing things. Why reinvent the wheel - if it works just roll with it.
